A wounded hero ... the woman he can't forget ... a love forged in flames.

Those readers who have a copy of The Man For Maggie will remember Rowan and Jo, and know how we left them at the end of that book, with Rowan shot saving Jo's life. And for anyone who hasn't read my first book, don't worry, there's a catch up scene in the prologue.

I guess you could call Love Under Fire a reunion story. Their characters called to me so much I just had to bring them back and give them their own book. Not only that, they will also play bit parts in the next five of my books, so I can only hope you grow to love these two as much as I do.

When Rowan McQuaid goes back to his hometown, Nicks Landing, Jo Jellic is the last person he expects, or wants to see. And Jo finds that two years apart lets her view Rowan through different eyes. If only she can get over her guilt at being responsible for the changes in him. Circumstances have thrown them together to investigate an unusual arson attack and like it or not they're stuck with each other, a cop who thinks the case will help her solve a riddle from the past and an insurance investigator who can't wait to leave town.

Fate has a way of making unlikely pieces fit like adjoining parts in a jigsaw puzzle and like it or not, Rowan and Jo are a perfect match. The original title of this book was The Truth About Love, because Rowan discovers that the truth about love is that the heart has no defense against it.
