This is the first of Frances
Housden's new Intimate Moments series INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS.
When Chelsea Tedman's sister dies in an
accident on Mount Everest, she extends her bereavement leave from the
Intelligence Bureau for International Security (IBIS) into AWOL. She needs
to talk Kurt Jellic into taking her up Everest.
Her sister literally holds the key to
proof that may prevent the company their father left them, Tedman Foods,
going belly-up, putting thousands of employees in the U.S. out of
work.
And worse, whole towns, as the ripple
effect spreads. Used to getting her own way, she finds Kurt a tough nut to
crack and is prepared to cajole, beg, seduce even, if it means she'll
succeed.
It's the falling in love part that takes
her by surprise.
No way can Kurt let the attraction
humming between Chelsea and him become public and invite talk of
collusion. Kurt's family already knows the damage whispers and innuendo
can do.
Now, the rumor-mill has him fixed in its
sights for surviving the accident that killed her super-rich sister and
brother in law.
But when she comes under threat on the
frozen heights of Everest, he's willing to put his life on the line to
save her. |
